In front of Mainz University of Applied Sciences, a sculpture shaped like an oversized ruler, opened out to its full length, marks the main entrance. This everyday measuring tool becomes a symbol of movement, curiosity, and precision—qualities that unite teaching, research, and design at the university.
The folding rule stands symbolically for the three faculties: as a tool of construction and measurement, as a creative design object, and as a symbol of numbers, comparison, and dynamics. With its clear form and vibrant color, the sculpture creates a striking landmark in the urban space and gives the university a distinctive identity.
