YOYO is the abstracted figure of a boy sitting on the edge of the roof of the Mall of Splendor. The boat positioned next to him refers to the important connection to the nearby river, the identity-forming and economic lifeline of Zhangjiagang. The sculpture’s colored rings appear like inflated swimming hoops, giving it a carefree cheerfulness despite its spectacular positioning on the edge of the roof.
